Dive into Diabetes

-by Lelia Brannen, RYT200

Globally, 674 million people were diagnosed and live with Diabetes as of October 2022, this number is

expected to grow to 874 million by 2045. WOW!

GOOD NEWS! over 300 million people have adopted Yoga as an exercise modality to enhance their

body, mind, and spirit health to manage their diabetes. Dive in Yogi’s! Let’s grow this number!

Doctors recommend mindful, stress-reduction strategies as part of a diabetes management plan. Yet

sadly the doctor says this and doesn’t really define a program. This can be stressful to hear and even

harder to dissect with what’s the right thing to do to manage Diabetes. Diabetes affects the whole

person and Yoga provides a reliable self-care strategy.

Yoga and Diabetes are complementary practices. They both teach us about body awareness.

Let’s dive in together. Me personally, I don’t have diabetes and would love to assist and learn from

those of you that have diabetes or have loved ones that work through these challenges. We will work

together on yoga poses, discuss proper rest, and other lifestyle tips. Share your story or tips or learn to

help your loved one(s).

You can join the whole therapeutic series or sign up for a class that interest you. Bring a friend or

family member.
