Karen Murner
I am Karen, a Physical Therapist and RYT500. I have been a PT for 34 years and have been practicing yoga since 2005. While attending a continuing education class that facilitated incorporating Yoga with P.T., I realized I wanted to share my love of Yoga and knowledge of body mechanics with others. I graduated from the 200 hour Lexington Healing Arts Academy teacher training program in October of 2016, and from the 300 hour teacher training program at The Essence of Yoga Center in March of 2020.
I have been teaching yoga since 2016 at Homegrown Yoga in the studio and with Homegrown’s partnership with The Kentucky Castle and Wildside Winery. I have assisted in teaching the 200 hour teacher training program offered at Homegrown, by teaching the anatomy portion of the class. I also taught yoga to St. Joseph employees as part of their wellness benefits for a few years.
I live with my husband, Ed, in Nonesuch, and have 4 adult children who grew up here in Woodford County. I continue to work full time at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. My favorite pose is Pigeon and Wide Leg Fold.
Do yoga for your body and it will last your lifetime!
