Teresa Rogers
My name is Teresa Rogers. I accumulated many years as a registered nurse, teacher, and educational
consultant before retiring in 2022. Currently, I stay busy teaching anatomy and physiology part-time, as
well as yoga and barre classes.
My yoga journey began when a friend invited me to a beginner yoga class. I immediately knew this was
something that I had to learn more about, and soon after enrolled in the 200-hour certification program
at the Evansville Yoga Center. That experience was so interesting that I wanted to learn more, so I
followed that by completing a 300-hour certification in Jackson, TN in 2011. I continue to grow my
practice through research and practicing with great teachers. Doing so has helped clarify my goal as a
teacher, which is, “To encourage every student to listen to their body and personalize the practice to
meet their unique needs.”
When I’m not practicing yoga, I find joy in my faith and my family. I love to spend time crafting, playing
video games and doing science experiments with my three granddaughters. My husband and I love to
hike and explore the national parks. Yoga is certainly a key factor in allowing me to enjoy all of these!
